COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WNYT)- Bassett Heart Care Institute in Cooperstown says it has completed the first leadless pacemaker procedures in its heart program. Bassett said colleagues implanted a leadless atrial pacemaker in August and a dual chamber leadless pacemaker in September. The new pacemakers are implanted directly into the heart and remove the need for wires and a chest pocket. Bassett said this is a first for its heart program.
